Schematic Design
Through hand drawings and conceptual studies, we explore multiple design directions that respond to topography, climate, ecology, and client goals. This phase establishes the overall vision, spatial organization, and character of the landscape, forming the foundation for all future decisions.
Design Development
Once a preferred direction is established, the design is refined and advanced in greater detail. Schematic concepts are translated into coordinated drawings that resolve grading, circulation, materials, planting strategies, and technical requirements. This phase includes preparation and coordination of landscape permit submittals, with close collaboration among reviewing agencies and the broader design team to ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining design intent.
Construction Documents
During this phase, the design is fully documented to support accurate pricing and construction. We prepare detailed drawings that clearly communicate intent, materials, and execution. These documents serve as a clear roadmap for construction, minimizing uncertainty while maintaining design clarity and quality.
Installation
We view construction observation as an essential extension of the design process. Our involvement in the field allows us to collaborate closely with contractors, interpret drawings, address unexpected site conditions, and resolve challenges as they arise. We help problem-solve in real time through regular site visits and direct communication, ensuring design intent is honored and details are executed with care. This hands-on approach supports the integrity, craftsmanship, and long-term success of the finished landscape.
